RA DIOHEA_D

Radiohead's new video for "House of Cards" uses a 360degree laser to film instead of using a camera... The making of video is awesome, and the whole concept is really unusual..Be sure to check out the visualizer that lets you move around the scene while you watch the video...Velodyne LIDAR is the company that made the laser scanners, and they got started racing autonomous vehicles in the Mojave Desert by using lasers to make a realtime view of the surroundings and computers in the Jeep to calculate the data to avoid upcoming obstacles...

Anything that gets us one step closer to having no steering wheel in the car is OK by me ...

It's Time to Stop America's Addiction to Foreign Oil

Here is a plan by an ex-oilman that wants to turn alot of Texas's desert into windfarms, there are already 1,500 huge wind turbines in place generating as much energy as 2-3 nuclear power plants and plans for many more.. He's even tossing in $10 billion of his own money into a project that will become the world's largest (4 times larger than the current title-holder) 250 miles northeast of Amarillo. So far he's spent $2 billion on it, including a record breaking purchase of 700 wind turbines from General Electric this year alone...

It's also worth noting that this is bi-partisan, he feels it is bigger than either party....

We made the appstore !!!

On Friday, the much anticipated iphone 3g will go on sale, as well as an update to the operating system (which is free for all iPhone users) and one of the new features is the Appstore. A company called PangeaVR has made the deadline to submit software and will appear in AppStore on Friday as a free download. They were looking for VR photographers to exhibit their portfolios and OliveThreeSixty made the cut !!

This is going to totally change our distribution model for existing clients ! Instead of physically having to pick up a customer's iphone, unlock it, and load my software and VR files, they can just click PangeaVR in the Appstore, and search for my portfolio and their photos.

So give it a shot on Friday, and have a look at OliveThreeSixty's panoramas! My favorites are the Dassault 50EX cockpit, and the Islander Resort Pool at Night

Zac Sunderland

Here’s a crazy story - 16 year old Zac Sunderland from outside LA, is attempting a solo circumnavigation on a 36 foot sailboat, that if all goes as planned will make him the youngest sailor to solo around the world. His blog is great, I check it everyday to see what he’s up to ...

This is the most amazing ship I’ve ever seen...
US Submarines has created this luxury submarine for a client, but he dropped out and now it is for sale... for $78M

“The Phoenix is capable of making trans-Atlantic crossings at 16 knots yet can dive along the route and explore the continental margins of some of the most fascinating waters on earth. And unlike surface yachts, when the water gets rough, the submarine can submerge into a perfectly smooth and quiet environment, continuing on toward its destination, providing a ride unsurpassed in quality ”

Although probably really cool to see in person.. the couple on that porch are probably a LITTLE close.

Found another cool site today, and figured I’d pass it on. 10 things to recycle - It even has my favorite toothbrush, the Radius on there. (wow that’s personal in post #2)

10 Things to Recycle That you Never Thought you Could

Welcome

After saying forever that blogs were way too personal, and questioning where bloggers get the time to write... Here goes. Joey’s blog.
I find way too much cool stuff while I’m doing research on the web not to share it with somebody.. so here you go, nothing too personal just links to things I think are cool ... (this is probably how all blogs start, and I’ll be writing about the wife and dog before you know it..
